GHOST HUNTRESS Book 1: The Awakening by Marley Gibson

jacket1Ghost Huntress Book 1: The Awakening
A new series by Marley Gibson

The story is fiction. The science is real. Welcome to a new reality.

Ghost Hunters, The Ghost Whisperer, Psychic Kids, Medium, Haunting Evidence-these and countless other television shows are making believers out of millions of people: ghosts exist, and they’re living right beside us. For centuries, individuals have been trying to prove the existence of ghosts but lacked the means to provide hard evidence. But as science and technology have progressed, ghost hunters have been able to use scientific methods, along with more traditional psychic tools, to make their case. Photographs and video and sound recordings are making it hard to dispute the existence of the supernatural.

An amateur ghost hunter herself, author Marley Gibson gives readers a firsthand look at investigating the paranormal in her new series, Ghost Huntress. In the first book, The Awakening (May 2009), we meet Kendall Moorehead, who seems like a typical teen. But when her family moves from Chicago to the small historical town of Radisson, Georgia, Kendall starts experiencing things that she just can’t explain. She’s hearing, feeling, and seeing things that seem unbelievable at first, but with the help of the town psychic, Kendall is able to come to terms with her emerging gift. Together with her new best friend, Celia, Kendall forms a ghost hunting team, and they’re going to clean Radisson of its less savory spirits. Kendall’s story continues in two forthcoming titles, The Guidance (August 2009) and The Reason (May 2010).

With an introduction by Patrick Burns, the renowned paranormal investigator and star of TruTV’s Haunting Evidence, The Awakening has everything a phenomenal young adult book can offer-suspense, romance, great characters, and the supernatural. It’s a winning combination.

Marley Gibson grew up in a southern town very much like her fictional Radisson. She never saw any ghosts growing up-that she knows of-although she has been on many ghost hunts and has gotten some verrrrrry interesting pictures, videos, and sound recordings. Marley is a member of the New England Romance Writers of America (RWA) and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She is the creator and founder of Chick Lit Writers RWA. Her previous books include the Sorority 101 series, which are written under the name Kate Harmon, and forthcoming Christmas Miracle, co-written with the New York Times best-selling author Cecil Murphy (October 2009).

Marley Gibson lives in the Boston area with her best friend, personal webmaster, and hubby, Mike. She can be found online at www.marleygibson.com or at her blog, www.booksboysbuzz.com, or at MySpace at www.myspace.com/mhgibson.

So Courtney begins dabbling in the paranormal world. At first it’s all a game to draw attention away from Kendall. But Courtney doesn’t know what she’s getting into-or what wants in her. This is one game that’s about to turn dead serious.

The Guidance will feature a foreword written by Chip Coffey, renowned psychic and co-host of A & E’s Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal.

GHOST HUNTRESS Book 3: The Reason (May 2010)

There’s so much going on in Kendall’s life: finals, the winter formal, and all of the requests for ghost hunts around town. Her calendar is so booked that there’s barely any time to make out with Jason! Then the mayor of Radisson approaches the girls to investigate his manor-some nasty spirit severely injured one of his housekeepers. Loreen and Emily both warn Kendall about the ghost: She’s dangerous and vengeful.

How dangerous, Kendall could never have guessed.
