Arranging Content

Once you have decided on a theme and altered the color scheme and fonts, it’s time to designate the location of your content. Look over your material and form a plan.

Site Title and Subtitle

To alter your site’s name, go to your Dashboard and on the left sidebar find Settings, then click General.

Pages versus Posts

In general, I recommend using the main page as the spot to post updates, news and bulletins. For example, start with the book description, then create a new post for every book signing and interview. For pointers on adding new posts to the site homepage, visit Manage Posts.

Then create pages for other content that will not change as often. Popular pages are “About the Author”, “Excerpt” and “Reviews”. Click here for directions on how to Manage Pages.

Populating your sidebar: Widgets

If you have chosen to include a sidebar that will appear on every page, put important links there, such as the jacket linking to the title detail page, ebook purchasing links, and links to the author’s blog or social network. Learn more about using widgets on the Manage Widgets page.
